baking tips
- i
never really bother sifting flour when i'm making cakes, it doesnt make
a huge difference and saves on washing up. if i'm making a cake thats
for a special occasion then perhaps i will take the time, but until
then i just dont bother!
- in
my opinion, sillicone cake moulds are just the best thing. i only own a
few, but i find them so useful. you can jost pop your cakes out of them
creating a really smooth, neat edge, and it means you dont have to
bother lining the tin or scraping around the edges with a knife. the
cupcake moulds are perfect, because you they are re-usable and better
than throwing away paper cases.
- i always put a timer on the oven, i just dont trust myself waiting!
favourite recipe books
- Cake Days by the Hummingbird Bakery- full of inspiration and great, easy recipes.
- Baking Made Easy by Lorraine Pascale- i love the breads and the sweet treats near the back.
- Home Cooking Made Easy by
Lorraine Pascale- my favourite of the two. makes me so hungry just
looking through it, and her recipes are such an inpiration. the one
recipe i wasn't so keen on was the sheperds pie though, but generally a
fantastic book. all hail Lorraine!
